Summer Memories!
This was the first thing that came to mind when I was invited to be an Oenoverse host for May/June. This time of year always makes me feel a little nostalgic. Growing up, May and June didn’t just mark the end of the school year, but it was the start of cookout season, lazy beach days, camping trips, and family birthday parties (most of my family has a birthday in June!). Nowadays, I’ve traded in my beach days for floats down the river, and now eagerly await the glow of the first fireflies in my garden while sipping a glass of wine.
Given how deeply wine connects us to our memories, I challenged myself to pair wines with some of my favorite early summer moments. I warmly invite you to join me on this stroll down memory lane. I’m excited to share these memories—and the dishes paired with them—with you at Blenheim. Until then, I encourage you to think about some of your own favorite summer memories… perhaps there’s a wine that brings them vividly to life for you, too.
Farm White – This wine is crisp, bright, and refreshing with lifted aromatics and a clean finish… just like the start of summer! A versatile companion for fresh fare and easygoing moments.
2023 Rosé – What’s patio season without rose, and this rose is one that pairs with everything from beach days, porch hangs and garden soirees. You can enjoy this with hot dogs, potato chips, (BBQ potato chips!), or even on its own with the company of friends.
2021 Roussanne – This is my favorite Blenheim wine. With notes of hazelnut and vanilla, this wine is elegant and well-balanced. It’s the wine you sip at the end of a summer evening.
